Partner / Senior Financial Adviser

Gene Harlow has worked in life insurance and financial services since 1989. He advises people approaching retirement and those already retired — the point at which decisions stop being theoretical and start determining how the next thirty years actually look.

Much of Gene's work is with clients he has advised for decades, through career changes, business sales, health events and the shift from earning to drawing down. That continuity is the part he values most, and it is why a good deal of his week is spent on reviews rather than new strategies.

What Gene advises on

  • Retirement planning — modelling whether you have enough, and how long it lasts
  • Superannuation — contribution strategies, consolidation and fund reviews
  • Complex retirement strategies — transition to retirement, Centrelink and Age Pension optimisation
  • Risk insurance — life, TPD, trauma and income protection
  • Business insurance — group cover, buy/sell and succession funding
  • Tailored wealth accumulation — investment planning in the years before retirement
  • Tax structuring — as a qualified tax relevant provider, Gene can advise on the tax consequences of a financial strategy

Qualifications and registration

  • Certificate IV in financial planning
  • Qualified tax relevant provider — authorised to provide tax (financial) advice
  • Top of the table member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT)
  • Highly experienced in investment planning, risk management, superannuation and retirement planning, taxation planning, and margin lending and geared investments

Gene's registration and advice authorisations are listed publicly on ASIC's Financial Advisers Register, and his profiles are on Adviser Ratings and Financial Advisers Near Me.

An initial conversation costs nothing and carries no obligation. If you are within a few years of retirement, or already there and want a second opinion on whether your position is holding up, that is the conversation Gene has most often.
